Our Journey and Intention

Seeds of Spirit (formerly Kamala) is a collective space with an intention to align and inspire connection to self, to others and to nature through yoga, mindful living, healing and massage and conscious clothing.
Yoga and Self-exploration:
Carmela, is passionate about the deeper connection to self, the earth and those around us as a tool of growth, transformation, and the gateway to experiencing the magic of this existence. Her own practice and study of Yoga has transformed her life, helping her calm the mind and connect to the heart, and its with this passion that she wishes to share and pass on these practices that have been a gift to her.
Carmela combines traditional Indian Yogic practice and philosophy with her love and passion for dance, embodiment and expression. She is a true believer in bringing yoga into the everyday, on and off the mat, using the conscious breath as key in every mindful moment.
Valuing and holding deep reverence for ceremony and ritual, she believes we all carry the ability to tap into the deeper wisdom of ones own body to guide us through our own journey of transformation.  Carmela teaches heart centered yoga classes and has also held Womens Circles, Ecstatic Dance Ceremonies, Solstice Gatherings and Meditation Circles. You can keep up to date with offerings and classes through this online space.
Conscious clothing:
Clothing that expresses the most luminous spaces of the soul, the Seeds of Spirit clothing range is designed to combine expressions of the new age earth wanders and soul seekers with ancient traditions of adornment through clothing.
Formerly Kamala, it is a vision manifested over year of world travel (both inner and outer) and inspired by the exotic, intricate tapestries swaying in the wind, high up in the Nepalese and Indian Himalayas. Based in Melbourne, Carmela travels to Nepal each year to work closely with a of traditional craftspeople in the Himalayan Kingdom to bring to life her unique style and visions inspired by the vibrant and beautiful traditional Saree dresses filling the streets of Nepal and India in colour and beauty.
The Seeds of Spirit range is designed here in Melbourne and made from authentic vintage saris and 100% Eco Hemp, both from Nepal.
Our Recycled Saree silk Range has been carefully selected and Up-cycled into a beautiful piece of wearable art. This makes our creations eco-friendly by using recycled materials, and also means each piece is completely unique, not one is the same as the other!
Our new 100% Eco Hemp range is made from the fibres in the herbaceous plant of the species cannabis sativa. It's a high-yield crop that produces significantly more fibre per acre than either cotton or flax, uses one quarter the amount of water than cotton, and is naturally pest resistant, eliminating the use of pesticides and chemicals. This makes hemp one of the most eco friendly fabrics in the world.
We hope you enjoy gazing through our collection, each product has been carefully designed with love and intention.
{ ETHICS } and { VALUES }

The Seeds of Spirit range is designed here in Melbourne and made from authentic vintage saris from Nepal that were carefully selected and Up-cycled into a beautiful piece of wearable art.

This makes our creations eco-friendly by using recycled materials, as we are reducing the demand for producing more silks and therefore not adding to the carbon footprint that is already high in developing countries surrounding production. It also means each piece is completely unique, not one is the same as the other, and that it carries a mysterious and mystical story along with it.

Seedsa of Spirit also endeavours on many other efforts to be as green and environmentally friendly as possible as a business. We use all electronic marketing, promotions and business communication methods and anything requested to be printed is done so on recycled paper. At our stall we use eco-friendly bags and as minimum power usage as we can.
Each year, Carmela spends time in Nepal not only to hand pick the most alluring materials and make new designs but also to ensure and work alongside the Seeds of Spirit team in Kathmandu. By spending time and bonding in a close relationship with the team, Carmela is able to ensure all steps of the process are aligning with the principles of fair trade.

This means that profits go directly to the craftspeople and not to a bigger organisation, that everyone involved works in a clean, safe and happy working environment, that everyone receives a fair wage and that absolutely no child labour is present.

Carmela holds the upmost respect and love for the friends and long lasting business relationships she was made during her time in Nepal, this determines that Seeds of Spirit and any impact it makes in its process helps rather than exploits the people in which we work with.
We use handmade and small scale production methods to support the incredible production skills of Our team in Nepal and also ensure they have a fair salary for their skilful efforts.

"Be the change you want to see in the world."
"The future depends on what you do today."
 - Mahatma Gandhi

“Love is our most unifying and empowering common spiritual denominator. The more we ignore its potential to bring greater balance and deeper meaning to human existence, the more likely we are to continue to define history as one long inglorious record of man’s inhumanity to man.”
- Aberjhani

We believe that every person can make a difference to better this world and cause lesser harm to all beings who live in mother natures beautiful habitats. Dedicated to supporting the protection of this, and a deepening, heartfelt connection Carmela (Creator and designer of Seeds of Spirit), feels to the animal kingdom, we support the following grassroots organisations that we believe are working hard to protect and stand up for all inhabitants and natural magic of the world on a monthly financial basis:

"Our purpose is protecting, promoting and restoring wilderness and natural processes across Australia for the survival and ongoing evolution of life on Earth."

"The Orangutan Project was formed with a key mission; to ensure that endangered wild orangutan species would be protected against extinction, and would continue to live in secure populations for generations to come."

"Rainforest Trust helps protect threatened tropical forests and endangered wildlife by partnering with local and community organisations in and around vulnerable areas.

Through these highly effective partnerships, we can ensure sustainable results necessary for the long-term protection of tropical ecosystems and the wildlife they hold."

"Sea Shepherd Australia is a non-profit conservation organisation whose mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.

Sea Shepherd Australia uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately balanced oceanic ecosystems, Sea Shepherd Australia works to ensure their survival for future generations."

Shanti Sewa Ashram - Kathmandu, Nepal

During her frequent travels to Nepal to work with a small family that produce the Kamala range, CEO and Designer, Carmela, also has offered her time and love to the Shanti Sewa Ashram, in Kathmandu, teaching English and sharing connection in their women's and children's programs. In devotion to the beautiful people and communities in Nepal, Kamala has also made several large financial contributions to the ashram, mainly in support of the larger land the ashram successfully attained, in order to expand their community programs and create an orphanage, school and community forest.

Shanti Sewa Ashram (SSA), "Peace Service Center" (in English), is a non-profitable, non-political social organisation dedicated to serving humanity through social service and spiritual sharing. SSA was officially registered in 2008 at Kathmandu District Administration Office. Since its establishment, SSA has been running activities based around regular Satsanga that strengthens the intention of peace and promote interfaith co-operation - just some of the various programs run at SSA are:

Womens Empowerment Program (WEP)  - Provides education and skill based training for women to help them help themselves and their families.

Youth Society for Peace (YSP) - Various workshops, trainings, interactions and discussion groups for youth.

Children Study Centre (CSC) - an after school program, which aims to offer free tuition and value based activities to underprivileged children from a mixture of family backgrounds.

Seeds of Peace (SOP) - Conducting a regular Saturday morning program for local underprivileged children.

The activities and programs at SSA have been running successfully in a limited space at the Ashram located in Koteshwor, however to expand the reach into a wider community, SSA have been looking to find a larger amount of land in which they can fulfil the dreams of fostering selfless service towards humanity through actions for peace, non-violence, various spiritual and philosophical awareness programs - at last the perfect piece of land has been found in a town called Banepa - 45 minutes from the capital of Kathmandu.

The land has space to not only continue and grow exisiting programs but also create many more social projects and programs - including room for a community forest and community lands.
