"Be the change you want to see in the world."
- Mahatma Gandhi
“Love is our most unifying and empowering common spiritual denominator. The more we ignore its potential to bring greater balance and deeper meaning to human existence, the more likely we are to continue to define history as one long inglorious record of man’s inhumanity to man.”
We believe that every person can make a difference to better this world and cause lesser harm to all beings who live in mother natures beautiful habitats. Dedicated to supporting the protection of this, and a deepening, heartfelt connection Carmela (Creator and designer of Seeds of Spirit), feels to the animal kingdom, we support the following grassroots organisations that we believe are working hard to protect and stand up for all inhabitants and natural magic of the world on a monthly financial basis:
"Our purpose is protecting, promoting and restoring wilderness and natural processes across Australia for the survival and ongoing evolution of life on Earth."
"The Orangutan Project was formed with a key mission; to ensure that endangered wild orangutan species would be protected against extinction, and would continue to live in secure populations for generations to come."
"Rainforest Trust helps protect threatened tropical forests and endangered wildlife by partnering with local and community organisations in and around vulnerable areas.
Through these highly effective partnerships, we can ensure sustainable results necessary for the long-term protection of tropical ecosystems and the wildlife they hold."
"Sea Shepherd Australia is a non-profit conservation organisation whose mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
Sea Shepherd Australia uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately balanced oceanic ecosystems, Sea Shepherd Australia works to ensure their survival for future generations."
Shanti Sewa Ashram - Kathmandu, Nepal
During her frequent travels to Nepal to work with a small family that produce the Kamala range, CEO and Designer, Carmela, also has offered her time and love to the Shanti Sewa Ashram, in Kathmandu, teaching English and sharing connection in their women's and children's programs. In devotion to the beautiful people and communities in Nepal, Kamala has also made several large financial contributions to the ashram, mainly in support of the larger land the ashram successfully attained, in order to expand their community programs and create an orphanage, school and community forest.
Shanti Sewa Ashram (SSA), "Peace Service Center" (in English), is a non-profitable, non-political social organisation dedicated to serving humanity through social service and spiritual sharing. SSA was officially registered in 2008 at Kathmandu District Administration Office. Since its establishment, SSA has been running activities based around regular Satsanga that strengthens the intention of peace and promote interfaith co-operation - just some of the various programs run at SSA are:
Womens Empowerment Program (WEP) - Provides education and skill based training for women to help them help themselves and their families.
Youth Society for Peace (YSP) - Various workshops, trainings, interactions and discussion groups for youth.
Children Study Centre (CSC) - an after school program, which aims to offer free tuition and value based activities to underprivileged children from a mixture of family backgrounds.
Seeds of Peace (SOP) - Conducting a regular Saturday morning program for local underprivileged children.
The activities and programs at SSA have been running successfully in a limited space at the Ashram located in Koteshwor, however to expand the reach into a wider community, SSA have been looking to find a larger amount of land in which they can fulfil the dreams of fostering selfless service towards humanity through actions for peace, non-violence, various spiritual and philosophical awareness programs - at last the perfect piece of land has been found in a town called Banepa - 45 minutes from the capital of Kathmandu.
The land has space to not only continue and grow exisiting programs but also create many more social projects and programs - including room for a community forest and community lands.
